My name is Chico Junior, and I have a story to tell you about my daddy Chico.

One fine day, most of us were in the garden enjoying our day, when we heard some people talking in the street.  Aunt Anna was listening.  Aunt Anna told us that a woman said, that she heard on the news that a black and white cat took the express train to the city from Brighton Beach.  I was excited to think that a cat was on one of those big cars in the sky.  Mommy asked Daddy, “could this be true?” Chico said, “I hope not because the cat could be lost somewhere, and not know how to come home.”  Just then Peter, an older cat from the neighborhood, walked into the garden.  He told Chico that he came to see him because one of his friends, Charlie was missing, and he was looking around the block for him.  Chico knew Charlie, so he told Peter that he believed that Charlie had taken the train to the city. Peter said, “Charlie was always curious about the trains, but I never thought he would go up there so high.”  Chico said, “we have to get others to help find him.” Mommy pulled daddy aside, and said “it is too dangerous for you to go up there, and look for Charlie.”  Daddy told Mommy not to worry and said they had to go look for Charlie because it was the right thing to do.  Tommy said, “let's go get buddy, Daniel and Ethan from the Avenue to go with us.”  So, Peter, Tommy, Chico, buddy, Daniel and Ethan started up the stairs at the train station.  Chico said, the plan was that they would all stand in front of one of the cars of the train, and when the doors open, they would look in to see if Charlie is inside.  The train stays in the station about 5 minutes before it pulls out again.  Just then, the Rescuer came up behind them.  She said, “Chico, Tommy and guys what are you doing here?” She saw them positioning themselves apart from one another.  Then the train came into the station, and the doors opened.  Each cat went into one of the cars, and looked around.  Buddy started making a lot of noise, and carrying on meowing.  We all ran to him, including the Rescuer.  There was Charlie, cowering under one of the seats.  Chico told Charlie not to worry, and that everything is okay now. Peter entered the car too, and you could see that Charlie was so glad to see him. The Rescuer ran in, and scooped Charlie up.  He stayed very still in her arms.  She carried Charlie to the garden with Daddy, and the others following.  When Charlie appeared in the garden, we were all so happy to see him safe and sound.  Mommy was so relieved to see Daddy, and I ran over to him.  The Rescuer went to her car that was parked nearby, and brought over a lot of fresh food and water for everyone.  Charlie drank a lot of water, and ate some food.  Daddy thanked Daniel, Ethan, and especially buddy.  They said they were glad to help, and left to go back to the Avenue.  Mommy suggested that Charlie should lay down in the garden, and take a nap before he goes home with Peter.  Everything seemed to be fine so the Rescuer said that she had to go to work, and would see us later and left.  Chico turned to everybody, and said that it is natural for cats to be curious, however, we must try to think things through before we do something we know to be Reckless. Of Course mommy looked over at me.

I will be back next month with another story.
