Two days before a forecasted hurricane, a baby orange kitty showed up out of nowhere in our community. I am a rescuer for Save Our Strays, and so is my sister. She actually found the kitten crying outside her home. Since Save Our Strays supplies us with food to feed strays, we had delicious food on hand that attracted the kitten to eat with us. However, he was somewhat mistrustful. I crawled under the car where the kitten was hiding, and he was too smart and went up the tire of the car, to hide in our engine. I had a trap that was supplied to us by Save Our Strays. However, the kitten was too light to trip the trap when he went into it to eat the food. The hours were ticking away before the scheduled hurricane would reach our neighborhood. Luckily, the kitten began to trust my sister so she was able to get him in the carrier. We rushed him to a veterinarian under Save Our Strays. The kitten was healthy, and ready to go to a forever home. There was a happen ending for this kitten. The receptionist at the veterinarian's office was looking for an orange cat, and she adopted him. I wish all rescues would end like this.
