FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER

Meet Billy.  He was rescued with his brother behind an abandoned house. As you can see, he has the most gorgeous aqua colored eyes.  They are, in my opinion, a very unusual and rare color.  If you look closely, you can see that one ear is bent over because he had a hematoma on the ear.  A hematoma is a localized collection of blood outside the blood vessels.  It could get quite large, and be very painful.  Thanks to Save Our Strays, they took care of the hematoma on his ear and he is so much more comfortable now.  I can only imagine the pain that is associated with a hematoma on the ear.  Of course, Billy is now left with this funny looking ear, but it gives him great character and personality.  It kind of makes you laugh when you look at him, although hematomas are nothing to laugh at.  Save Our Strays saved the day once again, and Billy can be comfortable again and live happily ever after!

Slinky

Meet Slinky!  Recently, I was getting gasoline at a 7-Eleven, and of course, at the corner of my eye, I see this cat roaming around with his nose to the ground looking for something to eat.  I immediately assessed the situation, and I saw no other cats, but him.  Usually, if there’s a colony, they will show themselves, especially when you bring food out.  I gave Slinky some food, and he was just devouring it.  While he was eating, I picked him up by the scruff of the neck and put him in the crate.  It was funny, and sad at the same time because he did not know what was happening.  Thanks to Save Our Strays, I was able to get him neutered and he has been learning his manners.  I call him Slinky Malinky, because sometimes he gets himself into trouble as far as his behavior goes.  When you bring a cat in from the streets, even if they were a domestic cat, and in someone’s house at one point, they are pretty rough around the edges and you need to retrain them.  He was definitely someone’s cat at one point, but either was dumped at the 7-Eleven or just plain got lost.  Either way, with the help of Save Our Strays, he is back on track and will be up for adoption in November.  He is a good boy, and as you can see in the picture, he just had his dinner so he is licking his lips with enjoyment.  The goal is to rescue these cats as I see them one by one, and get them back on track.  Hooray for Slinky!
