ROBBIN’S NEST Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our readers. Remember that this is the month of Love, so let’s all make it a priority to be kind to each other, and those less fortunate than we are. On another note, I would like to tell you about some rescues that I have been involved in lately. FIFI – Let me tell you about Fifi. She is a black, and white cat, who appeared out of nowhere at one of my feeding spots looking straggly. She appeared to be about 6 months old. Thank G-d she found one of my good spots. I have shelters here also, so I decided that it would be a good place to returned her to, after she was taken care of. I trapped her, built her up, and when she was ready, with the help of Save Our Strays, I had her checked out, spayed and given whatever else she needed. I waited a couple of weeks, then when she was ready, she was happy to be put back in a place that was familiar to her, and where she would be comfortable. Fifi is doing well. She is a bit timid, but well. MANGO – I don’t know where all these cats are coming from with all the TNR going on, but it is worse than ever. Anyway, while going to another one of my feeding spots, I saw a striped orange male cat looking for food. I showed him where the feeding spot was, since he was right near it, and he gobbled up a lot of the food that was there. I knew that he was going to stay there, but of course, he had to be checked out and neutered first. He must have been dumped because he wasn’t too feral. I trapped him, and with the help of Save Our Strays, had everything that he needed done. He is fine, and hanging out with the other felines. Mango seems to know the area. HAROLD – Let me tell you about Harold. He was about 5 weeks old. He was found in a pack of bushes around 6 p.m., by someone going to the store. I received a phone call from someone saying that they had just found a little tiny Tuxedo kitten. I went, and picked him up, and got formula because he would not eat food, and we thought he was younger than he turned out to be. He made it through the night, and in the morning, we brought him to the veterinarian to be checked. One of the fosterers fell in love with Harold, because he is so studious looking. Harold cannot be neutered until February, but he is happy and has a home, thank G-d.
