ROBBIN’S NEST

Hello Again,

I would like to start off this month by wishing all of our readers a HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY, a HAPPY PURIM.  Remember that Daylight Savings begins on March 12th, so don’t forget to fix your clocks.

Now I would like to tell you about some of the rescues that I have been involved in recently.

FRANKIE –
Let me tell you about Frankie.  About a half a block from one of my feeding spots, I saw a cat with his eyes closed and his nose and mouth crusty.  It looked like he was in very critical condition.  I called, and then immediately brought him to the veterinarian.  Frankie was hospitalized for a week, and then I picked him up and brought to my home to take care of him.  Frankie is a very gentle, and very sweet Russian Blue feline, but extremely skinny.  I put out the word to find a home for him, when he is ready.  Well, I am very attached to him, and he is delicate so, I am going to keep him.  He has to gain weight, and be neutered, but all of this will happen in time.  Meanwhile, he is happy and is now part of my crew.

IRIS –
Next to one of my feeding spots, I saw a female Calico cat under a car, scared and hungry.  I had to get a trap.  She was hesitant to come to me, but after a while, she went into the trap.  I called another person that I know, who agreed to foster and socialize her.  We had her spayed, and she is almost ready for adoption.  Iris is cleaned up, and getting more relaxed every day.  She should be ready for a forever home within two weeks.  She is about 10 months old.

GENNA & BRUNO -
Genna was found outside a New York State housing project in Coney Island.  She was a Domestic Short-Haired cat, and very pregnant.  Someone in the building called me to rescue her.  This woman said that she would take her, but she had a male cat named Bruno.  Save Our Strays, had Bruno neutered and checked out.  After Genna gave birth to her 3 kittens, we found homes for the kittens and then had Genna spayed and given all the necessary tests, and shots, and then returned
her to the place where she nursed her kittens and became very loveable with Bruno.  They are both doing fine, and this restores my faith in humanity.  This woman not only saved Genna, but also gave Bruno a companion and a forever home to both of them.
