ROBBIN’S NEST
 
            Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our readers.  Remember that this is the month of Love, so let’s all make it a priority to be kind to each other, and those less fortunate than we are.
 
          On another note, I would like to tell you about some rescues that I have been involved in lately.
 
ARCHIE –
          Archie was found by a school.  He is a 3½ month old orange Tabby.  He was in bad shape, so I called a rescuer friend of mine to help me trap him.  We set a trap, and eventually he went in.  My rescuer friend took him home to his house.  The next day, the rescuer took Archie to one of Save Our Strays’ veterinarians to be checked out, and treated as needed.  After two weeks of treatment, Archie recovered, and is now a beautiful healthy kitten.  We were able to find him a forever home right away, with a woman in the neighborhood, who has another cat.  Archie will need time to adjust to his new home, but he will be okay.
 
ROMA, GINA & JASPER –
 
          At one of my feeding spots, there is a mother cat that I have been trying to trap.  It hasn’t been easy to get her because she runs into a locked area that I cannot get into.  I knew that she had given birth about 2½ to 3 months ago, so I had to wait for her to bring the kittens out.  I knew of a rescuer, who would taken kittens up to 3 months old, socialize them and get them adopted.  One day, when I was feeding at this particular spot, I spotted the kittens, set a small trap and managed to get all of them.  I called the woman who was going to foster them, and brought the kittens right over to her.  We set them up in a crate with everything they needed, and in about five days a woman from an animal rescue group in New Jersey came to take them, and bring them to the rescue place where they will be cared for, and put up for adoption.
 
NINO –
          Nino is a Male Maltese Mix dog, between 5 and 7 years of age.  I received a call from another feeder telling me that she had spotted this raggedy looking dog,
and took him to her apartment.  I called Save Our Strays, and they made arrangement for me to take Nino to a veterinarian the next day to be checked out etc.  The other feeder, and I took Nino to the veterinarian.  He was examined, and given a bath and shots.  Neutering will come later.  The veterinarian said that he is basically okay, but needs to be built up, which the other feeder will do.  She is keeping him in her apartment, and will care for him there.  Meanwhile he is safe, and she will try to find him a forever home, otherwise, she will keep him.
