ROBBIN’S NEST
Hello Again, I would like to start off this month by wishing all of our readers a HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY, and a HAPPY PURIM. Remember that Daylight Savings begins on March 9th, so don’t forget to fix your clocks. Now I would like to tell you about some of the rescues that I have been involved in recently. WINSTON – Someone who feeds cats by the projects, told me that there was a cat there, and that it had one eye half closed. I explained to her that I would trap the cat, but asked if she could hold it. When we got the cat we didn’t know that he was tame. So, we took the cat to one of Save our Strays’ veterinarians to be checked out and treated. Winston has an infection in his eye, and it will be a while before he is better. In the meantime, the woman will hold him and treat him until he is well, and then hopefully, we will find him a forever home. MAMA – At one of my colonies, I had all the females spayed, except one, as she was a problem to get and is not always there when I go to feed. I realized that the only way to get her would be with a drop trap, but I would need to get someone to help me. Finally, with the help of another rescuer, we got her. We had her spayed, and the other rescuer agreed to hold her, until she was ready to go back to the colony. When she was ready, we put her back in her colony and she is fine now. Thank G-d, no more babies. Now I have to work on the males. COSMO – Last month, we did a story about a cat name Richie. Richie was adopted. The couple called a few days later, to say that Richie was doing great, and they wanted to adopt a companion for him. During the time that Richie was being fostered, there was another kitten there named Cosmo that he played with all the time. So, when the couple mentioned a companion for Richie, I thought that Cosmo would be perfect. Amazingly, the couple decided to take Cosmo, and both cats, we are told, are happy and doing fine.
