SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE
Here are a few more rescue stories that the team of Save Our Strays, and Little Feet Haven were involved with.

Q-Tee after

Hemi’s Story: Found severely prolapsed, and in danger of losing her battle to infection or fly egg/larvae infestation.  A good Samaritan brought her indoors to protect her as she sought rescue help.  She called Little Feet Haven, and many others.  Little Feet Haven was the only rescue out of a dozen called, who returned her call.  With Save Our Strays willingness to assist, we were able to find an available, knowledgeable foster and get her immediately into a veterinarian.

Hemi had 2 replacement surgeries performed, but unfortunately, her condition required a more extensive and complex repair, as she re-prolapsed for the third time. Save Our Strays made it possible for her to have that more complicated
surgery at 11 weeks of age. Hemi, after close monitoring post surgically, is now a happy, healthy five-month-old, who will never be given dry food. A qualified and knowledgeable forever home is being sought for her.

A Tale of Q-Tee: Little Q-Tee was found taped into a box, with no air holes, and left in the hot sun in front of a Quick Trip gas station/convenience store. By the time anyone realized that there was a living soul trapped in that box, Q-Tee was soaked in his own urine and feces and was in shock. He was also covered in fleas and flea dirt.

Little Feet Haven was one of many Rescues called.  It is not always the fault of the Rescues not to respond.  Funds are a big issue.  We are lucky enough to have Save Our Strays behind us as a team.  Q-Tee was brought to our most experienced foster mom, who immediately began emergency treatment for the most urgent issues. Warm bath to treat the shock, kill the fleas and remove the scalding urine. A call went out to Save Our Strays, who stepped up at once and covered his emergency vet visit.  Q-Tee has been left with a reminder of his ordeal, a persistent inner ear infection that may require additional veterinary intervention.  He is with a loving foster mom, receiving medications, while those potential interventions are
appreciated.
