SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE BOOTS, SNEAKERS AND BOOGIE SHOES Very young Boots. A sweet long-haired, black and white tuxedo girl, who found herself homeless and pregnant. She was not micro-chipped, so, it was very difficult to find her original home, despite posters and inquiries. Her finders were not prepared for the medical emergency that her labor, and delivery presented. Boots successfully delivered her first kitten. Then, she experienced a very protracted, and unproductive labor. There were 2 additional babies stuck inside her. As her finders weren’t in the financial position to provide medical expenses, and were more inclined to release her to the local animal control as a stray, Save Our Strays stepped up to bring her into our foster system. A very exhausted Boots was admitted for emergency cesarian section, and post-operative care. Unfortunately, too much time had passed, resulting in the surgical delivery of 2 deceased kittens. She was spayed at the conclusion of the c-section…there would be no further pregnancies. Boots, and her remaining kitten are currently in foster with our veterinary clinic. Her baby is chunky, and well cared for. An orphan baby was brought into the clinic 2 weeks later, and was presented to Boots in the hopes that she would accept, and raise him alongside her own. She immediately gathered that baby up, and made him hers. They are a happy family. Boots and babies will go on to be completely vetted, and micro-chipped by Save Our Strays and campaigned for adoption in partnership with our veterinary clinic. We deeply appreciate the opportunity to partner with them to provide a safe haven, and then to find the perfect forever homes with built in vet references! Special thank you to Dr. Sylvia and staff.
