Hi! It is unbelievable how quickly the year has passed. It’s October already, and autumn is in full swing with the trees all showing their beautiful colors of red, orange and gold. ADOPT A SHELTER MONTH COLUMBUS DAY HAPPY HALLOWEEN Dear Friends and Members: We are again in the Holiday Season. The year passes so quickly. There are so many worthy organizations that we must compete with, that I start early. There is such a great need for funds. This summer, with inflation so high, donations are unfortunately, considerably down. The stores are showing Christmas, and Hanukkah and it is not even Halloween. In New York there was a bill before the City Council to ban horse drawn carriages, because a person fell out of a horse drawn carriage and was killed. Many horses have been killed in traffic. Hi. September is here, and I can’t believe how quickly this year has passed. I hope that you all had a wonderful summer. This time of year also marks the beginning of the new school season, and before we know it, the holidays will be upon us. This month also marks the beginning of the fall season, where we will see all the beautiful colors of autumn. LABOR DAY HAPPY ROSH HASHANAH YOM KIPPUR Dear Friends, and Members: It has been extremely hot all over the country, and beyond our shores. There have been earthquakes, flooding, fires and worse, there has been loss of human life. In one way or another, human life finds as much help as possible – not enough at times, but help is there. As far as animal life is concerned, the unspoken loss is not addressed. There are organizations that can help in certain areas, but not all. W

We wish to say thank you to all the people who help rescue animals. The thank you goes out also to the people that have water, and dry food in a carry bag, in case they come upon a poor soul in need. Again, I will bring to your attention the homeless, who adopt a stray and share their food with them. So, if you see a homeless person with an animal, if you can, offer food and water. Hi. August is here again, and so far this has been one of the hottest summers we have had. Please, please watch out for the strays, and remember to carry dry food, as moist food will spoil in the heat. A cold bottle of water will also be helpful. Also, remember to bring something to put the water in. You can make a bowl from aluminum foil wrap, which you can fold in your bag. It is just as difficult for the strays to find these necessities in the hot weather, as it is in wint

Dear Friends and Members: Summer heat is at its highest, unless you live in the mountains. Many strays lose their lives to Heat Stroke. Please leave, at least water, and if you can, dry food. At least the water hydrates, and the dry food gives some nourishment. When we live in the city, we can’t understate the hardships that the strays go through. Hi. July is here again. It is unbelievable how quickly time passes. As I am writing this, we are already experiencing temperatures in the 80’s and 90’s. I hope that this summer won’t be a scorcher. The weather was pretty good this past month, despite a few thunderstorms here and there.
