ROBBIN'S NEST - JUNE - 2026
ROBBIN’S NEST Hello again. June is here, and I would like to start off this month, by wishing all fathers, both human and animal, a HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. Now that the warmer weather is finally here, it is more important than ever to be aware of the strays out there. In the summer it is just as hard for them to find food, and especially water as it doesn’t rain as much this time of year. Food that is thrown out, and put in the garbage is not always an option, since the he

FLORIDA RESCUE - JUNE - 2026
FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER Meet Buddy!! This is a story about a cat that was left behind to take care of himself, after his owner was placed in a nursing home. He was left out in the backyard with no food or water, and lucky for him, one of my friends lived two houses down and heard about the situation. She called me right away, and told me that this cat was in trouble and asked if could I help. This is a reminder to be a responsible pet owner, and to have a plan

SOUTH CAROLINA - JUNE - 2026
SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE BECK AND COMMUNITY CATS Save Our Strays helps to support numerous feral colonies through our rescue partners, feeders and suppliers in three States: New York, Florida and also in South Carolina. We were contacted by a property owner, who found out about us through word of mouth and recommendation. A very mature, war-torn, brown Tabby boy limped out of the woods, and took refuge under a back porch. He chose the right home. These property owners hav

SOUTH CAROLINA - MAY - 2026
SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE SUCCESS STORY Sometimes, it seems that no matter how hard you work, how much time and effort you spend in making things better for the unwanted, dumped and ignored companion animals, it just isn’t enough, has never been enough and may never be enough. We take our bright moments, and hold them tightly, and stuff the bad ones deep in our pockets. This week, had both of those moments. Save Our Strays helps to support numerous feral colonies through o

FLORIDA RESCUE - MAY - 2026
FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER Meet Julie! Julie was rescued from a dump truck parking lot, very pregnant. I didn’t have the heart to abort the babies, because she was so close to delivery. Being that she did not have the nutrition during her pregnancy to have healthy babies, I was taking a big chance. Sure enough, once she gave birth, every single baby all six of them looked exactly like her. It was so adorable, until my heart was broken watching the babies die one by one. I c

FLORIDA RESCUE - APRIL - 2026
FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER From Forgotten Backyard to a Future Full of Love: Meet Our Newest Resident Buddy!! It’s hard to imagine what was going through this sweet boy's mind as the weeks turned into months. He was once a beloved companion, but when his owner was moved into a nursing home, he was unintentionally left behind. For months, he survived alone in the backyard of an empty house, waiting for a door to open that never did. He was eventually

SOUTH CAROLINA - APRIL - 2026
SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE Cherry B’s Story One of our rescue partners, is actively engaged in the care and feeding of a feral colony in South Carolina. It is an established, trap/neuter/recover and release, ear-tipped colony and the feeders know exactly who their residents are. The property owner is fully on board, and assisted with the construction of several straw filled shelters on the property. He also ensured access to one of the garages on the pr

ROBBIN'S NEST - APRIL - 2026
ROBBIN’S NEST Hello Again, April is here, and, spring is upon us. It has been a hard winter. I am glad that it is behind us, and I am sure that the strays agree. We can finally enjoy better weather. I would like to wish all our friends, and members a HAPPY EASTER, and a HAPPY PASSOVER. Also, a reminder that this month is Prevention of Cruelty To Animals Month. SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE - MARCH - 2026
SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE Mona Update! Ms. Mona has exciting news! As you know, from her previous story, Mona was a fairly neglected community cat, resigned to delivering litter after litter, then watching her babies fall victim to a cruel world…until our foster mom tossed on her super hero cape. Mona’s story appears below for reference, and was published in our October Newsletter. She turned out not to be a feral girl, just a reserved one. Through extensive interviewi

WAGGIN' TAILS MARCH 2026 DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS – 3/8/26 HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY HAPPY PURIM Dear Friends & Members: Let’s start off with some good news. A judge, Jeffrey Harris in Winnipeg Canada, sentenced a pair of animal abusers to 12 years in prison for torturing, and killing animals. The sad part is that it involved over 90 animals. I can’t understand how twisted so many people are. At least it is a start to put these sub-humans away, whe

FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER - MARCH - 2026
FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER As we move forward into the year 2026, I find myself reflecting on a rescue on Christmas of 2026. The smell of rotting leftovers, and the damp of a Florida December shouldn’t be the first memory of a kitten‘s Christmas, but for one little Family, the dumpster behind a local Burger King/Wawa gas station was the only home they knew. Mama, a surprisingly, gentle soul despite her circumstances. She did her best to kee

FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER - FEBRUARY - 2026
FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER Meet Tigger! This cute little kitten was lost in an apartment complex parking lot, with no microchip. Flyers were put all over the neighborhood, but no one called to claim him. He wasn’t neutered, but was super friendly, which was a blessing. It makes life so much easier when they’re friendly. He was neutered, and all his shots were done by Save Our Strays and he is ready for a forever home. I discovered he wasn’t interested in tiny lit

SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE - FEBRUARY - 2026
SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE STATE FARM BABIES We received a call from our Veterinary Clinic in South Carolina. A client reported 2 young kittens under a dumpster at a local State Farm office. The Kittens were shy, and ran away when approached and the entire area is setting up for a massive winter event with sleet, freezing rain and plummeting temps. Keeping in mind that a minor winter event paralyzes the South, we knew that we needed to reach out to a savvy trapper to g

SOUTH CAROLINA - JANUARY - 2026
SOUTH CAROLINA RESCUE Spike’s Story We received a call from one of our South Carolina Veterinary clinics. Two kittens found, and brought in by Good Samaritan - siblings, one hale and healthy and the other a pathetic huddle of weary, sick fur covered bones. Finders did not have any experience in caring for, or nursing along, a baby this ill. When our veterinarian called to explain the situation, we, of course, stepped up. The healthy kitten went home with her f
