ROBBIN’S NEST - September 2026

Hello again.

It’s hard to believe that the summer is over, and it’s September already.

Please remember to keep an eye out for the strays in your area, and to start setting

up shelters for the strays, as the cooler weather is right around the corner.

On another note, I would like to tell you about some of the rescues that we

have been involved in lately.

SCARLET –

Scarlet is a little kitten, about 3 months old. She was found in the grass

behind an apartment house. She had a damaged eye when we found her, and must

have been dumped there. We took her to one of our veterinarians, and they told us

that her eye was very bad, and could not be saved. Scarlet had to be built up first

before her surgery. So, for two weeks we set about building her up. After that, she

had her surgery and we were able to avoid having to remove the eye, but she will

be blind in that eye. My friend is caring for her, and will keep her and she is doing

well. A happy ending for Scarlet.

RUDY –

I received a phone call from someone telling me that there was an orange

cat by a gas station. I immediately went with my friend to check out the situation.

Rudy was very skinny, and scared, but did go into the trap. While in the trap, he was extremely wild. Since it was difficult to handle him, we took him to one of our veterinarians.

By the time we got to the veterinarian’s offices Rudy had calmed down quite a bit.

We discovered that he had already been neutered so we assumed that he had

belonged to someone. In the doctor’s office, he became very affectionate and

loving. We gave him treats, and he was a different cat. He is 10 months old.

There were legions on his body, and we thought it was ringworm, but thank

goodness it wasn’t. My fosterer friend took him, and will care for him and he will

be up for adoption soon.

BELLA –

In an area next to one of my feeding spots, there was a mother cat, and her

kitten. We were able to trap both of them. We had the mother checked, and spayed

and when she was ready, I put her back in my colony where she will be safe, since

she is feral. The baby was checked by a veterinarian, and found to be in good

health. We found someone who will foster her until she is adopted. A good ending

for all.
