ROBBIN’S NEST - August 2026

Hello again.

It’s the month of August, and I hope that you are all enjoying your summer, and

staying safe. Please remember to try to keep an eye out for the strays, and help them

with dry food and water whenever and wherever you can.

On another note, I would like to tell you about some of the rescues that I have

been involved in lately.

TINA & HER 6 BABIES –

I received a call from someone, telling me that she was walking in her

neighborhood at midnight, and saw a skinny cat, by a garbage can looking for food.

She immediately went into a nearby grocery store, and bought food for the cat.

Afterwards, she followed the cat to a small empty lot, but could not get into the lot

because their was a gate, which was locked. I called a Rescuer friend of mine, and we

went to check out the situation. When we got there, we didn’t see any cats, but we left

some food and water. A few days later, while I was feeding, someone came to me, and

told me that they had seen kittens at about 3;30 a.m., playing outside the fence of the

lot. We went to the lot, and set up a trap to get the kittens. The first night, we

managed to get 2 of them, an orange Domestic Shorthair, and a Tabby. Two nights

later, we went back and were able to trap 2 more of the kittens – a little grey one, and

an orange and white one. They are all together in one big crate, at the fosterer’s

home. Meanwhile, we can’t get the mother cat yet, until we get the last 2 kittens. I will

FRANKIE –

This male Tuxedo cat, came from under the Boardwalk. He was a bit difficult

to catch, and was semi-friendly, but fearful. We had to go back quite a few times, until

we finally trapped him. At first, he wouldn’t go into the trap, no matter what kind of

food we put in their to draw him. Finally, after we put Fancy Feast Turkey cat

food into the trap, he went in. We took him to one of our veterinarians to be checked

etc. Two weeks later, he was adopted by a nice gentleman, who wanted a companion.

So, Frankie now has a loving, forever home and is doing fine. He wasn’t feral.

HUGO –

For weeks, my Rescuer friend had been trying to trap a cat, near her building.

The cat, who we named Hugo, looked as though he had been thrown out by his

previous owner. She tried a few times to get him without success, but then a few weeks

later, one morning she saw him near her building, and he looked as if he had been

abused by another cat. She set up a trap immediately, and he went right in because he

needed help. He was taken to a veterinarian immediately, and treated. After he was

healed, we had him neutered, given shots etc., and we are now looking for forever

home for Hugo.
