ROBBIN’S NEST - July 2026

Hello again.

I would like to start off by wishing all of our friends, and their families a safe, and

Happy Fourth of July. Please be aware of the strays in your area, as well as your own pets,

as the noise from the fireworks frightens them.

On another note, I would like to tell you about some of the rescues that I have been

involved in lately.

LANA –

At one of my colonies, I noticed that one of my cats was having trouble eating. I had

been noticing that for a while. I realized that I had to trap her, and take her to a veterinarian.

Surprisingly, I didn’t have trouble catching her. Since I realized that her problem was because

their was something wrong with her teeth, and gums, I brought her in to one of Save Our

Strays veterinarians, which deals with problems pertaining to dentistry. I dropped her off

there, and picked her up later that day. When I picked her up, the doctor told me that they

had to pull 3 of her teeth, and that was causing the problem. They gave her medication, and

shots and my foster held her until she was able to be returned to my spot. When she was

ready, I brought her back to my spot, which made her very happy and she was like a new cat

after that. So, Lana was taken care of.

BILLY –

Someone called me, telling me that they had found 3 to 4 week old kitten in their

apartment building, in a small box. They said that the kitten was not doing well, and that its

back legs were stretched out making it impossible for him to stand. My rescuer friend, and I

went to the building immediately, and took the kitten right to one of our veterinarians. The

doctor told us, that the kitten was so weak from malnutrition, that it could not stand. So, he

gave him shots to build him up, and special food. The woman who found him said that she

wanted to keep him, but we told her that he had to built up first. My rescuer friend is fostering

the cat, and when he is ready, he will have a forever home. When we took him to the rescuer’s

house, he did not go to the bathroom for about a day, and a half, so we were a little worried.

We were going to take him back to the veterinarian, when my phone rang. When I went to

answer, the fosterer told me that the kitten had just urinated. So, we felt better, and decided to

hold off on going to the veterinarian for a while. Then, a little while later, he pooped. So,

Billy is doing okay. I will keep you posted on his progress.

VANESSA –

Vanessa, was in a small grocery store. She gave birth to 4 kittens. We went there to

talk to the owner about taking Vanessa, and her kittens to one of our veterinarians to have the

all checked, given shots etc., and to have Vanessa spayed. The owner finally agreed, but the

problem was that Vanessa was still nursing, and she also had a hernia and there was a

problem with one of her mammary glands. So, nothing could be done until her milk dried up.

When she was finished nursing, and her milk had dried up, we took her to one of our

veterinarians and had the surgery done for the hernia, and the mammary gland, and had her

spayed as well. The fosterer held her until she was healed, and now Vanessa is back at the

store, and is happy, no longer in pain
