FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER

‘tis the season to be Holly

                  Meet Holly!

This beautiful white cat was found abandoned in the easement section of an apartment building.  I was told that she had been there for a while, and decided to go and help to rescue her.  She had no microchip, so we put flyers up and contacted rescues, but no one claimed her.  How is it that this unusual, and beautiful creature was left behind.  With one green eye, and one blue eye this condition is called

Heterochromia, usually harmless and a genetic condition, but sometimes it could be caused by injury so it’s a good idea to get the eyes checked by a veterinarian.  We named her Holly, inspired by the holiday season.  Such a cute name for a white cat.  As we approach the winter months in Florida, adopting a white cat is a special thing.  However, in the northern states, a white cat may sometimes not be the ideal pet because in the wintertime she would blend in with the snow, and it would be hard to spot her potentially making it unsafe outdoors.  For example, people that adopt cats in

the snow countries would be better off with a black cat.  Holly got her second chance at life with a family that adopted her, and welcomed her into their forever home.  Just remember this season that cats, and dogs are not holiday gifts, but an addition to your family.  Make sure they are a wanted pet, and don’t get caught up in the “nostalgia” of giving someone a pet, without knowing that they even want one.  Holly was spayed, and all her shots were updated. She was very lucky not to be spending the rest of her life abandoned in the easement of an apartment building, with other wild creatures that could possibly hurt her.  Enjoy your holiday season, and don’t forget to donate to Save Our Strays to help us continue our journey in saving these beautiful animals.  Thank you, and Happy holidays!!
