FLORIDA RESCUE RANGER

Meet Buddy!!

This is a story about a cat that was left behind to take care of himself, after his owner was placed in a nursing home.  He was left out in the backyard with no food or water, and lucky for him, one of my friends lived two houses down and heard about the situation.  She called me right away, and told me that this cat was in trouble and asked if could I help.  This is a reminder to be a responsible pet owner, and to have a plan in place for your pet before you end up in a nursing home or before you pass away.  You must have a folder with your wishes for your pet, and communicate with your family and let them know that if something happens to you, they would carry out your wishes and make sure that your Pet finds a new home.  The family of this woman that was put in a nursing home, did not care enough to even think about the cat.  I realize that it’s traumatic enough to place a person in a nursing home, but can you imagine how the cat felt?  They lost the person that loved, and took care of them, but now they were facing starvation and the elements of the weather.  I went to the house,

and Buddy greeted me with open arms.  I did not know his name so I had to rename him, which is traumatic enough with everything he was going through.  To my surprise, he was not neutered.  That was a huge red flag.  Right away Save Our Strays

stepped in, and got him neutered and his shots done.  Then he needed to be evaluated for his personality, before he goes up for adoption.  Turns out that he is the best mannered cat that I’ve ever rescued.  He loves any age kids, as well as the old people and everything in between.  Never scratches the furniture, and just hangs out and is the best companion.  Happy ending for Buddy.  Thanks to Save Our Strays, he will go on and be adopted and start his new life.
